  10. A bug has been found from these programs that may not be evident until
  11. you install Executive. (Executive is UNIX-like task scheduler, see
  12. http://www.megabaud.fi/~petrin/Executive.html).

  15. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  16. While printing a document, Final Writer can crash or mess up the output
  17. if its priority is lower than printer.device-task's priority. This happens
  18. on my Final Writer 2.1 and on Final Writer 4, possibly in other versions
  19. also.

  21. FW and printer.device and usually have priority 0, but when Executive is
  22. running, their priority is adjusted automatically, based on their recent
  23. CPU usage and system load average. Final Writer uses more CPU time than
  24. printer.device, so it eventually gets a lower priority. To fix this,
  25. use ExecutivePrefs to set printer.device so that it's not scheduled and
  26. it's priority is kept below Final Writer. Maybe the easiest way to do
  27. this is to add this line to your Executive.prefs-file:

  34. ScalaMM has problems with changing priorities also. To fix, add these
  35. lines to you Executive.prefs-file:
