- A bug has been found from these programs that may not be evident until
- you install Executive. (Executive is UNIX-like task scheduler, see
- http://www.megabaud.fi/~petrin/Executive.html).
-
- Final Writer
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
- While printing a document, Final Writer can crash or mess up the output
- if its priority is lower than printer.device-task's priority. This happens
- on my Final Writer 2.1 and on Final Writer 4, possibly in other versions
- also.
-
- FW and printer.device and usually have priority 0, but when Executive is
- running, their priority is adjusted automatically, based on their recent
- CPU usage and system load average. Final Writer uses more CPU time than
- printer.device, so it eventually gets a lower priority. To fix this,
- use ExecutivePrefs to set printer.device so that it's not scheduled and
- it's priority is kept below Final Writer. Maybe the easiest way to do
- this is to add this line to your Executive.prefs-file:
-
- TASK printer.device NOSCHEDULE BELOW
-
-
- ScalaMM
- ~~~~~~~
- ScalaMM has problems with changing priorities also. To fix, add these
- lines to you Executive.prefs-file:
-
- TASK ScalaMM NOSCHEDULE ABOVE
- TASK scalamm.gfx NOSCHEDULE ABOVE

- Executive V2.00 is under development, my TODO-list is ~10KB long, so it
- will take at least two months before I can release V2.00. But you won't be
- disappointed.
